Abstract
This article examines the phenomenon of traumatic bonding that develops in an environment of domestic violence, focusing on its psychological and neurobiological mechanisms. The study analyzes destructive relationship cycles, hormonal and neurochemical dependencies, cognitive dissonance, and the impact of learned helplessness on victim behavior based on modern psychological and neurobiological literature. The functional role of the limbic system, particularly the amygdala, alongside the dopamine-oxytocin pathways in reinforcing pathological emotional attachment is detailed. Furthermore, the paper provides comprehensive recommendations for psychotherapeutic intervention aimed at restoring autonomy and breaking the trauma cycle.
